Why the knight from the game of chess? It’s not a reference to “Paladin” from “Have Gun-Will Travel”, as some of our clients have suggested, but rather an acknowledgement that the skills necessary to be a successful chess player are analogous to the skills necessary to be a successful investor! Critical thinking, strategy and tactics, evaluating all potential “moves” and learning how to deal with uncertainty are components of chess as well as investing. When managing our clients’ assets we evaluate all potential investments and leverage an “if-then” mentality toward asset allocation decisions to successfully navigate market uncertainty. We’re always prepared for all potential market outcomes, as if we’re playing a game of chess.
